Introduction

IIM ATM

The Annual Technical Meeting (ATM) of the Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) stands as a flagship event of the Institute, held each year to bring together professionals from industry, academia, and research organizations. It serves as a premier forum where metallurgists, materials scientists and engineers from across the nation share insights, exchange experiences and present innovative ideas.

IIM

Established in 1945, the Indian Institute for Metallurgists emerged to fulfill a crucial needfor a professional body of metallurgists in India. During an era marked by limitedtechnical resources and restricted international communication due to wartime constraints, industries faced significant challenges in acquiring essential metallurgical knowledge. At the time, the Inspectorate of Metals in the ordnance Factory was the sole entity equipped to investigate metal products.
